Three is the magic number that follows two. It took us a little bit more time as the versions fall from mozilla.org. A Thunderbird community build for Linux PowerPC in version 3.0.3. I will tell you where to find the sources, offer a link to the binary and tell you where to find more information about the installation or how to compile it yourself.

The sources are located at ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/3.0.3/source/, get the file named thunderbird-3.0.3.source.tar.bz2. Or use this link, perhaps you need to "right-click" on it to get the file: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/3.0.3/source/...
If you do it yourself, compiling your apps, please refer to our howto http://www.ppcnux.com/?q=thunderbird-30-community-build-for-powerpc that will lead your to a self-compiled thunderbird 3.0.3. By the way, I activated calender extension because I need it and I don't like to support two versions.
We offer a binary tar.bz2 archive, but you have to trust us:
Thunderbird Version 3.0.3 Community Build: thunderbird-3.0.3.en-US.linux-powerpc.tar.bz2
You will get a folder called thunderbird, when you unpack our archive. Move it to your home folder or into /usr/local/bin/. You can create an application starter by pointing it to your chosen path and to the script thunderbird/thunderbird. Please don't start thinderbird.bin.
That is it. Have fun! If you like, please give feedback.
